Graduates
Applications for the 2012 graduate programme have now closed.
HSBC Private Bank's graduate programme introduces you to all aspects of our global business - including frontline client relationship management, our operational and support functions and our product development environment.
You'll work alongside our experienced private bankers within a dynamic, multi-cultural environment. We'll help you to develop your technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, and to build a network of contacts so that, at the end of your programme, you'll be ready to advise your own portfolio of clients. Everything we do is geared towards speeding your progress and helping you achieve your potential.

The private banking sector is undergoing tremendous change - with old values being challenged and new orders established. This means you'll need to be forward-thinking, adaptable and ready to question established ways of thinking. But it remains fundamentally a people business, so your communication and relationship-building skills are critical.
We're looking for creative thinkers - people who don't always assume the obvious or accept conventional wisdom; good bankers learn to expect the unexpected. The other essential requirements are:
Your development | ||
After the initial four-to-eight week training period and regulatory exams in London, you'll begin the first of three six-month rotations within the Private Bank. We'll structure your rotations to give you exposure to technical products and relationship management, and show you how support functions contribute to the success of the business. We'll also support you in studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. You'll be appointed a mentor, who by the nature of the role, will not be directly responsible for your rotations or direct career development but will provide guidance, support and encouragement throughout the programme. During your rotations, we will review your performance and your strengths and will identify an 'underwriter'. The underwriter will employ you on a permanent basis in their team at the end of the training programme. To help you gain a real overview of the business, your rotations will be in a number of locations. Possible rotations include:
Asia
Europe
Americas
